Capo Comino lies just south of Tanaunella, beyond the village of Posada, and it’s only about a 25-minute drive away. In this beautiful stretch of coast, you’ll find a small, quiet beach and, further south, a wide area of stunning rocky cliffs that make the landscape truly unforgettable.
The beach is well equipped, with plenty of parking, a bar, and shallow, crystal-clear waters — perfect for children to splash around safely. Thanks to the steady breeze, Capo Comino is also a favorite spot for surfers and those who love underwater fishing.
The area’s natural beauty — its dunes, rocks, and turquoise sea — has even caught the eye of filmmakers. Several movies have been shot here, including Lina Wertmüller’s wonderful Swept Away (1974), starring Mariangela Melato and Giancarlo Giannini.
At the far end of the cliffs stands the Capo Comino lighthouse, built in 1903 and brought into service by the Royal Navy in 1925. It’s a quiet, scenic spot, perfect for a stroll and for taking in the incredible coastal views.
