What can we say about Cala Brandinchi, except that it’s pure paradise? This stunning beach, with its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters that shimmer in shades of green and turquoise, is truly one of Sardinia’s most breathtaking spots.
Yes, there’s paid parking — introduced a few years ago to help protect this natural gem — and yes, it can get pretty busy in the height of summer. But honestly? Once you set foot on that sand, all is forgiven. Cala Brandinchi is absolutely unique and always worth the visit.
You’ll find it just north of San Teodoro, in the bay between Puntaldia and Capo Coda Cavallo. From San Teodoro, take the SS 125 north toward Olbia, then turn off after the little hamlet of Lu Fraili following the signs for Capo Coda Cavallo.
A bit of history: it was right here, on October 17, 1867, that Giuseppe Garibaldi set sail on the San Francesco after escaping from Caprera, heading to Piombino in his attempt to liberate Rome.
The following images show some glimpses of the two beautiful beaches, the southernmost one, Lu Impostu, and the northern one, Cala Brandinchi, separated by the Capicciuolo hill.
